Fundamentals of Conflict Resolution: Mediation Training
Effective conflict resolution is a cornerstone of strong employee relations—and a critical skill set for all employee-facing professionals.
Led by Jeremy Pollack, conflict resolution consultant and CEO of Pollack Peacebuilding Systems, this practical, hands-on training equips ER practitioners with the tools and confidence to navigate interpersonal disputes and respond to conflict with clarity and neutrality. Participants will learn techniques to guide employees toward productive dialogue to foster a culture of accountability and build stronger workplaces — one conversation at a time.

- Dive into the core principles of conflict resolution, exploring the role of psychological needs, assertion messages and how to adopt the mindset of a peacebuilder.
- The 7 Cognitive Biases That Lead to Conflict (And What to Do About Them)
- Learn to identify the seven most common cognitive biases that contribute to workplace conflict — and practical strategies to manage them.
Workshop 2 (February 25, 12:00 – 2:00 PM EST)
- Coworker Mediation Techniques: Helping Employees Resolve Conflict (PART 1)
- Understand the basics of conflict and how it should be perceived and how to find clarity and alignment during mediation.
- Apply the skills learned with real-world roleplay.
Workshop 3 (March 4, 12:00 – 2:00 PM EST)
- Coworker Mediation Techniques: Helping Employees Resolve Conflict (PART 2)
- Understand the mediation process and sequence and how to arrive at solutions and accountability.
- Apply the skills learned with real-world roleplay.
Full Attendance Required: This course is structured as a three-part training, with each workshop building on the previous one. Therefore, full, live attendance is required to ensure a valuable experience for all participants. The workshops will not be recorded and there are no make-up sessions. Credits will be awarded at the end of the three workshops. To be eligible for the credits, attendance is required at all three sessions.
