[0:03] At work we want our employees to feel valued, and we know when our employees feel valued they are more likely to be happy, more productive and want to stay with us. My role at Akamai Technologies is Head of Employee Relations – Center of Excellence.

[0:22] In my role we use HR Acuity not only to track our employee-relations issues; we also use it to document investigations and then analyze that information to gain insights and understand trends, so our function can be more proactive and better assist managers in leading their people.

[0:46] HR Acuity as a whole is more than just software. They provide professional-development opportunities for ER professionals, create a community for us to learn from one another and offer helpful insights on best practices and benchmarking.

[1:11] We leverage HR Acuity to monitor how organizational changes are being implemented and received by employees. That might show up as misconduct or performance problems—patterns we can reflect back to business leaders to help them manage change.

[1:36] I want employee relations to be perceived as subject-matter experts and a trusted place where people can come for advice and know we’ll respond thoroughly and thoughtfully.

[2:00] Ultimately, I want ER regarded as a trusted thought partner in solving business problems. HR Acuity focuses first and foremost on employee-relations issues, understands day-to-day challenges and is best positioned to deliver both an ER-specific case-management solution and ongoing practitioner support.
