Two Minute Matters: Using Analytics in AI

TL;DR: In this episode of Two-Minute Matters, Deb sits down with Dianne Frommelt to talk about HR analytics in employee relations — what ER leaders really need, why context is key and how HR Acuity’s new NextGen Analytics Suite is designed to help teams move from data to insights, fast.

Three Key Takeaways from the Video: Using Analytics in AI

  • Data is only half the story — context makes it actionable: ER leaders don’t just need case volumes and resolution times. They need to understand what those numbers mean across teams, locations and industry benchmarks.
  • Benchmarking brings credibility: Being able to compare ER performance to peers — by industry, size or geography — helps leaders respond to tough questions with confidence and clarity.
  • Analytics isn’t just reporting — it’s prediction: The right ER analytics can reveal early indicators of emerging issues and help teams act before problems escalate.

Hi everybody, welcome back to Two-Minute Matters. I’m Deb Muller, CEO and founder of HR Acuity, and so glad to be here today.

00:00:18.960 — Deb
I’m joined by today’s guest star, Dianne Frommelt, our Chief Product Officer here at HR Acuity — so it’s really fun to have you as part of the conversation.

00:00:29.519 — Dianne Frommelt
Thanks Deb, thanks for having me. I’m excited — my first Two-Minute Matters!

00:00:34.160 — Deb
I think you’re going to do really well.

00:00:37.280 — Deb
Today’s topic is analytics and telling stories through analytics. If you didn’t know, HR Acuity just launched our brand new NextGen Analytics Suite. We’re super excited about it.

00:00:50.640 — Deb
We’re not going to dive into a demo today — though if you want a tour, just message me. Dianne has been immersed in analytics and in talking with customers and our teams, so we thought, since it’s a hot topic in employee relations, she’d share what she’s learned.

00:01:11.240 — Deb
You know how this works. I’ve got my computer and phone — I’m setting the timer for two minutes. We’re tough on time here. Ready?

00:01:31.240 — Dianne
Ready. Let’s go.

00:01:34.040 — Dianne
Like Deb said, we’ve spent a lot of time talking to customers and ER leaders about analytics while building out this new platform.

00:01:43.320 — Dianne
My impression? There’s a lot of overwhelm — especially for ER leaders without a data analyst. There’s so much data, but how do I make sense of it?

00:01:56.560 — Dianne
Most ER leaders know what to track — team productivity, case volumes, investigation durations. But what they need is context.

00:02:08.840 — Dianne
They want to benchmark. Compare business unit to business unit, location to location — but also compare themselves to other companies: by size, industry, geography.

00:02:20.640 — Dianne
So when a board asks, “Why are our cases taking so long?” you can respond, “Actually, when benchmarked against best-in-class peers — including HR Acuity customers — we’re doing really well.” Or: here’s where we need to improve.

00:02:55.519 — Dianne
It helps you tell the full story.

00:03:02.800 — Deb
You know what else analytics does? It gives you predictive indicators — just like in marketing or finance. Signals that something might be going wrong — or right — so you can ask more questions and dig deeper.

00:03:18.120 — Dianne
Exactly. And through all our conversations, not to plug our product too much — but we are excited — we’ve made it easy. We’ve got a library of predefined metrics and charts to help you track what matters.

00:03:39.720 — Deb
Okay — we’re at time. And we didn’t even get to how we’re using AI to help you move from data to insight quickly. But we will in our next Two-Minute Matters.

00:03:51.959 — Deb
Dianne’s already signed up for another guest star appearance, to talk about ethical and responsible use of AI in ER. So stay tuned.

00:04:01.079 — Deb
Let us know — what do you want to learn from your analytics? Or how are you getting the most from your data?

00:04:08.000 — Deb
Drop a comment. Let’s keep the conversation going.

00:04:11.280 — Deb
Thanks Dianne, we’re so excited about how analytics is helping the employee relations community.

00:04:16.199 — Dianne
Thanks for having me!

00:04:18.839 — Deb & Dianne
Bye!
